Generally held during the day at a private residence or casual venue, the informal wedding calls for simple, informal attire on the part of the couple, including a simple knee length or casual long dress for the bride and a light suit, or even shirt and slacks for the groom. The guest list is usually limited, and attendants are held to simply the maid of honor and best man. The meal is simple, perhaps just hors de oevres with or without light afternoon cocktails, or dessert.
