More appropriately called a chuppah but also known as a chupah, chipe, or chuppa. This canopy is traditionally and predominately used in a Jewish wedding and is a tent or covering which is set up to rest above the couple and Rabbi during the wedding ceremony. The four pole structure, is traditionally covered by a Jewish prayer shawl, known as a tallis, but is sometimes modernized by the use of fabric or tulle.
