Formality, Semi-Formal
Most weddings are assumed, without indications on the invitation otherwise, to be semi-formal. This more traditional wedding can be held in most places, save for cathedrals or very exclusive venues. An afternoon start is the norm. A simple meal is served and the guest count may be 100 or less.
The bride wears a long dress without a train, or short dress, while the the groom and his groomsmen wear matching suits or tuxedos, based on the bride and her attendants’ gowns or dresses.
